What better time to start fresh than the spring? The Winter Park Estates Community Association website has a new look along with additional content to keep our neighbors informed and in-touch. This is an excellent resource for basic neighborhood information and can be an effective way to communicate additional information between newsletters. Here are some of the new features offered on the site: - A new calendar function provides more convenient options to view upcoming events along with detailed information for each event.
- For those residents that have expressed interest in getting involved, a Committees section has been added to share what is being done in the neighborhood and how to help out. As always, you don’t even need to be an association member to participate.
- With concerns over the increasing crime in Orange County, we all want to make sure the neighborhood watch program continues. The new website has a Crime Alert section to track any incidents occurring in the community. The integrity of this information is up to residents so please be sure to let the neighborhood watch know when a crime or suspicious behavior has occurred. This can help other neighbors be more aware of criminal activity in the neighborhood and potentially keep the same thing from happening to them. In addition to the neighborhood crime alerts, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office sends out an email with zone specific crime statistics and alerts that will also be posted on the website.
- A community information section with helpful website links applicable to residents of Winter Park Estates has been started. This currently has websites for elected officials representing our district from the Orange County School Board to the United State House of Representatives. Other links include utility providers, local resources, and our very own neighborhood weather website.
- To know more about the Winter Park Estates Community Association, the website has information on joining the association, the by-laws, and who the current board members are.
Over the coming months additional features will be added to the website based on feedback and ideas provided by the community. Please take some time to check out all the new features and provide feedback on what else you would like to see on the site. This can be a great tool for our neighborhood, but we need your input!
